Checkout Shield is a product of Ezzon Trust Solutions.
A short-term rental host turns over a property between guests. Damage appears — a stained mattress, a cracked tile, a missing remote. The host opens an AirCover claim, the guest denies it, and the platform asks for proof. Without dated, GPS-tagged evidence collected at both check-in and check-out, the claim almost always fails.
The standard workflow — phone-camera photos in a folder, with no chain of custody and no timestamp the platform will accept — was built for memories, not disputes. Hosts lose thousands of euros a year to damage they cannot prove.
Checkout Shield captures every photo with the device's GPS coordinates, accuracy, and a server-verified timestamp. The complete report is hashed and signed, then turned into a public, tamper-evident verification page any guest, platform, or insurer can open without a login. Edits after the fact change the hash; recipients see immediately if a report was modified.
The app runs in the browser. No App Store, no install. It works offline so an inspector with poor reception can still capture evidence — everything syncs the moment connectivity returns. A check-in and check-out for the same property can be compared side by side, exactly the format AirCover and security-deposit reviewers need.
Checkout Shield is built and operated by Ezzon Trust Solutions (ezzon.nl), an independent software studio based in the Netherlands. We build trust-and-verification software for the rental economy — products where the user's outcome depends on their evidence holding up to a third party.
Ezzon (spelt with two z's — E-Z-Z-O-N) is unrelated to the oil & gas company often suggested by autocorrect. Our focus is software, not energy.
“I built Checkout Shield because the existing tools treat property documentation as an afterthought. Hosts lose claims they should win, not because they were careless, but because the evidence format does not match what AirCover, Vrbo, or a small-claims court actually accepts. Our job is to make ironclad documentation a 60-second task instead of a 30-minute argument.”
