Turnover and Cleaning QA Checklist

The room-by-room standard for every turnover, with the photo-documentation points built in, so the walkthrough that readies the home also protects the next claim.

Why this beats every free checklist

  • A room-by-room quality bar a cleaner can follow without supervision, so turnovers are consistent across cleaners and properties.

  • The documentation points are built into the cleaning walk, not bolted on: the person readying the home captures the condition evidence at the same time.

  • A restock and consumables list that stops the mid-stay "there is no toilet paper" message before it happens.

  • A final QA sign-off the co-host verifies, so the owner knows someone checked the cleaner's work, not just the cleaner.

  • A damage-found branch: exactly what to do the moment a turnover uncovers damage, before anything is cleaned or moved.

Before you start

The turnover has one job beyond cleaning: confirm the home is in the same condition it was left in, and capture proof if it is not. That is why documentation is part of the walk, not a separate task.

  • Confirm the guest has checked out and the booking shows the home is empty
  • Note the arrival time of the next guest, so you know your window
  • Do a first walk-through before touching anything, looking for damage or missing items
  • Open windows to air the home while you work
  • Check smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are present and lit

Damage-found branch: capture the item where it sits, note the room and the time, and flag it to the co-host or owner before the turnover continues. A GPS and timestamped inspection report is the strongest form of this record.
